Affirmative Prayer

“Through the art of affirmative prayer the limitless resources of the Spirit are at my command. The power of the Infinite is at my disposal.”
— Ernest Holmes
Imagine a window covered in so much dirt it is almost black and you can’t see through it.  Then imagine spraying it with glass cleaner and picking up the dirt with a paper towel.  As you wipe away the dirt, the glass becomes clearer. The more you wipe away the dirt, the more the window becomes transparent and lets the light in.

Affirmations work in much the same way; they act like the cleaning agent being sprayed on the glass, dissolving dark thoughts, beliefs, wrong words, and negativity in our consciousness.
Keep this example in mind if, while stating an affirmation, you experience resistance that says, “I don’t believe this,” or “this isn’t true”.  Remember… it’s simply a clearing away process to replace the negative with the positive.
Prayer changes things because it changes us!

Prayer Examples

I am a center in the Divine Mind, a point of God-conscious life, Truth and action. My affairs are divinely guided and guarded into right action, into correct results. Everything I do, say or think, is stimulated by the Truth.  There is power in this word that I speak, because it is of the Truth and it is the Truth. There is perfect and continuous right action in my life and my affairs.

From The Essential Ernest Holmes by Ernest Holmes

Today I am living in the quiet and joyous expectation of good. God is not only my life, He is substance taking form in everything I do. God is not only the actor, He is acting through me now. God is not only the giver; He is also the gift. This gift I receive in joy, with gratitude, and with a complete sense of security. I expect everything I do to prosper. I expect new and wonderful experiences to come to me. I am living in complete confidence that the kingdom of heaven is here and now that I am prospered in everything I do.

From 365 Days of Richer Living by Ernest Holmes and Raymond Charles Barker

I am One with the infinite rhythm of Life which flows through me in love, in harmony and in peace. This is no fear, no doubt and no uncertainty in my mind. I am letting that Life which is perfect flow through me.  It is my Life now. There is One Life, that Life is God, that Life is perfect that Life is my life now.
